I run various conspiracy theories in my head before I fall asleep. I also think about what makes the universe tick, where we come from, the explanations behind myths, etc. One of the theories I have about all this is that Gods are a far more scientifically advanced human race that perished in some huge natural catastrophe. But they had left some evidence of their lives and the drama surrounding them behind for us to find and spread. Every myth has a moral attached to it; perhaps these myths actually happened to real people in real life and so as not to re-invent the wheel, the people learnt from these happenings and passed them down for future generations. Of course, as it always would, these stories' origins got forgotten and the people inhabiting those stories became revered later on because of their superior technology and understanding of the world.
